I've had my X32 Rack for almost a year now and am very comfortable using it, but I needed additional channels, so I finally scraped up enough to get one of the S16 snakes. So now I should be able to access the full 32 channels on my X32 (16 preamps in the rack and 16 on the snake.) I'd like the setup to be Channels 1-16 coming from the snake and 17-32 coming from the X32 rack. I only need 8 outputs, and from what I understand, the default setting sends the same 8 outputs to both the rack and the snake. So that should be fine.

I know how to change the routing in the setup menu to reflect what I want, but on the S16 itself, there are several config modes and I don't know which one I need to have it set to. Kaigen reels. The manual has a table chart of the different modes, but they don't explain it very well at all.
