I read in a thread that I have to download Dx9 redistributable but I'm not sure if I need that or perhaps the newest DirectX version redistributable, I have no idea. Any ideas here?

I have the option enabled in Steam settings but it's still using software encoding because I assume I don't have the right setup on my remote laptop. Any help is greatly appreciated.
