The bad one and good one were purchased at the same time. I have used the 'bad' one for several years. It worked very well in the past. All of the sudden, it became 'faulty' after the recent windows updating. If it is not the driver problem, what may lead to the keyboard 'locked'? That is an interesting question I would like to know since I did not abuse this keyboard. By the way, I also found that pressing 'Windows' and 'u' at the same time could bring out screen keyboard, when using the bad one.

What i am saying is, that sometimes the hardware just wears out, for example, just noticed that my keyboard, 2 years old, but, has signs of wearing out, by worn out letters on it. The driver for the keyboard are loaded into your files, so, using the new keyboard and everything works would just indicate that the one you have been using for several years may be worn out.

The best way would be to plug it in to another computer when you find one to test it on. In the meantime, use the new one. Just my thinking.
